Sweet and sour lentils with herbs


Lentils (black) — 200 g
Onions — 1 pc.
Garlic — 3 cloves
Sugar (small) — 2 tsp..
Carrots — 2 pcs.
Olive oil — 3 tbsp. l.
Broth — 100 ml
Balsamic vinegar — 45 ml
Thyme — 3-4 sprigs
Salt — to taste
Pepper — to taste


1. In a deep frying pan, heat the olive oil and fry until soft onions and garlic. Add the carrots and cook, stirring, 3 minutes.
2. Add the lentils, sugar and pour the broth. Stir, cover and simmer over low heat for 20-25 minutes until tender lentils, stirring occasionally.
3. Add the thyme, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Mix well and warm together. Sweet and sour lentils ready! Serve as a separate dish or as a garnish for fish, poultry or pork.
